The Peterborough Petes are in Mississauga tonight to play the St.Michael's Majors in game 3 of their best of 7 series. The Petes lost game 1 by a score of 4-2, thanks to the 3 goals scored in the third frame by the Majors. In game 2 the Petes got to see NHL prospect Ryan Spooner come back in the line up from a injury that had him sidelined for 8 weeks. Spooner wasn't 100% healthy but he wanted to be in the line up to try and help his team. Even with him in the line up, the Petes still couldn't get the win in game 2 and lost by a score of 2-1. Petes stars, Matt Puempel, Austin Watson and Ryan Spooner need to all play a strong game 3 if they want to see different results then game 1 and game 2. Game 4 will be back in Peterborough on Thursday, March 25th and I will be covering it on my Twitter page.

The Trade Deadline Blog! Part 1 of Tuesday
Hey everyone, Alot is going on today so I decided to write a blog on whats happened and what could happen today and tomorrow.
I reported at about 10am today that The Atlanta Thrashers Have Signed Veteran D-man Chris Chelios. This is true and not a rumor. The team will announce this sometime today. Chris Chelios has to go through waivers first before being called up to play for Atlanta.
Waiver Wire!
It's a busy day on the Waiver Wire and this is the following players going through today.
Brad Lukowich-----Vancouver
Ryan Oulahen----Detroit
Enver Lisin----New York Rangers,
Aaron Voros-----New York Rangers,
Anders Eriksson-----Phoenix
Chris Chelios----Atlanta
Ryan Jones----Nashville
John Grahame----Colorado
(Bochenski, Syvret and Cote all cleared waivers)
Rumors!
These are the following rumors that are being talked about following up to the trade deadline.
Toronto's Jeff Finger may be traded to Chicago for Cristobal Huet and draft picks.
(I don't see this trade happening. Doesn't seem like Chicago would do this. But if this does happen the reason for this would be that Chicago would bring in Tomas Vokoun from Flordia to be the number 1)
Nashville's Dan Hamhuis being traded to the Flyers for likely Ryan Parent and maybe a draft pick.
(Like I said on monday Dan Hamhuis will be traded, and that team will be the Flyers. Ryan Parent looks like the best fit in this deal. But look for the flyers to put in a draft pick to get this deal done)
If Flordia decides to trade Tomas Vokoun then look to the Flyers or Chicago to be the place he would land.
(I don't think Tomas Vokoun would be traded. If I was Flordia G.M I wouldn't trade Vokoun. He is a grat number one goalie and Flordia should hold on to him. Don't look for him to be traded. If not they should get a good amount for him)
Back Feb 19th, 2010 I tweeted saying "When The Trade Freeze Gets Lifted, Expect The Wild To Re-Sign Marek Zidlicky", This will happen very soon and its believed that the contract will be a 3 year deal worth around likely 12 million.
(Expect this to happen between now and the trade deadline. You can now put away those rumors) (This Has Happen and It Is 3 years, worth $12 million and also gives him a NTC)
Pittsburgh is likely going to try and get a winger. They are looking are Alexei Ponikarovsky and Ray Whitney.
(I think Pittsburgh will trade for one of these players. My biggest guess will be Ponikarovsky)
Rumors are flying around saying that Anaheim Ducks defenseman Scott Niedermayer could be heading to New Jersey between now and the trade deadline.
(This will not happen. Don't expect Niedermayer to be in a different jersey as of 3pm tomorrow. The only way this would happen is if a trade comes in that could be way to good to turn down. Look for Bob Murray to stick to his word by keep Scott)
James Wisniewski of the Anaheim Ducks is very much available for the trade deadline. The best bet is the New Jersey Devils.
(I myself would rather see Anaheim keep Wisniewski, but If the right offer comes around then he will be traded. The likely team that I've heard is the Devils. I'm almost 100% sure he won't be going anywhere. So the talks of him going anywhere, should be dismissed )
Peter Mueller of Phoenix could be traded before the deadline. Boston and the Rangers lead the way in the sweepstakes.
(Muellers trade value isn't as high as it was, because of his poor play this season. Mueller isn't that sniper that Boston is looking for)
Colorado's Wojtek Wolski is the trade market and the team that is wanting his serves the most is Phoenix.
(Little surprising to me, because Colorado shouldn't really be messing with what they have there. The Avs have a young team and alot of talent and should keep it the way it is. If Wolski was to be traded to Phoenix then it would be Mueller and something else going to Colorado.)
Anaheim Ducks Defenseman Ryan Whitney Seems To Be Available
(This comes to a bit of a shock to me, as int he fact that Anaheim traded for him last year and sent Chris Kunitz away to get him. No teams leading the way yet, but things could change at anytime. Anaheim should keep Whitney. Didn't they bring him in to replace Pronger? That's what I thought at least. What will Anaheim do after this season when Niedermayer Retires? Bad move all around, shouldn't happen. Unless it's a trade that Anaheim couldn't pass up)
Ethan Moreau has had some attention in the trade market and one of them teams could be Montreal.
(I think Ethan Moreau will be likely traded before the deadline. Edmonton is really looking to trade him away because of his one more year remaining on his contract. Edmonton would like to get into the rebuild stage but first needs to get out the old and get in the new)
Is it Biron or Roloson that is Available?
(Sources are saying that it is Roloson that will end up getting traded between now and tomorrow. There is no teams leading the way but there are some teams going after Roloson and is very much gone as of tomorrow)
Are the St.Louis Blues going to be an active team tomorrow in the trade deadline?
(Very yes so. In the fact that they have came out and said that every player on their roster is available expect for Oshie and Johnson. Don't be surprised if some players are traded from the Blues to change up their roster)
Who Will Be The Biggest Sellers On Trade Deadline Day?
My thoughts on who will be the biggest sellers tomorrow, will most likely be the Edmonton Oilers and the Carolina Hurricanes. The reason why is because both of these teams are needing to start rebuilding as soon as possible. They have alot of players, that many teams would love to have and all it would take is to "make your best offer". I think Edmonton would be more active in the selling market then Carolina because they got nothing to lose.
My Predictions For The Trade Deadline:
I agree with what TSN's Bob McKenzie predicts that "Montreal will not trade a goalie" (In my mind I think if Montreal trades a goalie it would be a bad move all around. Both goalies aren't ready to be a starting goalie just yet).
Another predictions Bob has was that "Detroit will be quiet at the deadline." (I think that is true aswell. I can't see them being very active. They aren't usually a active team at the deadline and this year isn't any different).
Edmonton to make a big trade. (I think that the Edmonton Oilers will make a big trade that could send Andrew Cogliano out of Edmonton to a team in the Eastern Conference)
I think the Anaheim Ducks will make a trade that will come back and hurt them. (I have a feeling that they will make a trade that could turn out to be a bad one. That could very much be them trading away Whitney and or Wisniewski. The only way that this wouldn't hurt them is if they get some good roster players in return).
Those Are My Predictions For The Trade Deadline, Don't Forget I Could Be Very Much Wrong!
